The love of God! Matthew 22:34-40

23 May

Praise the Lord saints! I give honor to my Lord and savior Jesus Christ who is my life and THE love of my life. To Pastor Shelby, his wonderful family, and to all the blood purchased children of the Most high God. I thank you Pastor for the oportunity to speak and impart Godly wisdom to the body of Christ which is his bride. I thank God for another Women’s Day on today, I won’t be before you long, I am going to expound on the topic “love” my Scripture can be found in Matthew 22:34-40. Let us go there. 34 But when the Pharisees had heard that he had put the Sadducees to silence, they were gathered together.35 Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying,36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law?37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.38 This is the first and great commandment.39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. This is a commandment not a suggestion:

If I had a subtopic on today it would be love beyond what you see. As children of God we are commanded to love God with everything that is within us and to love our neighbor as we love ourselves, yes we know this but we don’t live it, we don’t practice it, we judge and go by what we see and think that are judgement is right even in the body of Christ. But God is constantly demanding us to show the world that this is the only way that the world will know we are true disciples of Christ (John 15:35), if we can’t get it right in the house of God we can’t get it right out on the streets. We have to let the world know that we have been with him and have tasted of his goodness.Loving beyond what you see is my challenge today to the body of Christ today! To the women, today is women’s Day, DONT talk about your sister in Christ love her, you don’t know where she has been, or seen, let’s love for real, if I yoke up with you to talk about somebody else I am wrong I am out of God’s Word which is contrary to it. Sometimes we can show the love of God to a fellow believer easily, but the question is can we show his love to the lost? Can we show the love to the unlovable?: Can we go to the gangsta, prostitute, homosexual, smelly drunkard,or the crazy homeless person realizing it was once us dirty and filthy in sin? God is looking at hearts and our motives, can we go to the person of another race all souls belong to Him (Ez 18:4)? These are all God’s concerns because without His love we won’t make it, not here on earth but not to Heaven either.

It’s not how much money we have or the big beautiful house we have what are we giving to this hurting world? The bible says that God so LOVED the world that He GAVE His only begotten Son, (John 3:16) we all know this scripture but are we living this scripture? This is a simple message but yet it seems so hard to do, why is that? We are not loving Our God with all of our soul and neither are we loving our neighbor as ourselves. So how do we do it? Some people might not know how to: One way is to give, another way is look beyond our needs and help somebody else, not to get but to give, another way is through prayer. If you see someone struggling spiritually, don’t gossip about them, it might be you tomorrow, but instead take them to God in prayer.

An interpreter of the law asked our Lord a question, to try, not so much his knowledge, but his judgment, the love of God don’t have wicked motives. The love of God is the first and great commandment, and the sum of all the commands of the first table. Our love of God must be sincere, not in word and tongue only(1st John 3:18). All our love is too little to bestow upon him but we can love Him with His love that put in our hearts because his love is perfect, therefore all the powers of the soul must be engaged for him, and carried out toward him. To love our neighbor as ourselves, is the second great commandment. There is a self-love which is corrupt selfish, and the root of the greatest sin pride, and it must be put off and mortified; but there is a self-love given by God which is the rule of the greatest duty, we have to take God’s love that He gives us and turn around with that same love and give it out to others: We must have a concern for the welfare of our own souls and bodies. And we must love our neighbor as truly and sincerely as we love ourselves; in many cases we must deny ourselves for the good of others. By these two commandments let our hearts be transformed by a intimate relationship with God through His Word. Let’s start today saints, if we don’t have it let’s get it, if we got it, let’s make it stronger and keep it. God Bless!
